In zone 3a, the last spring frost usually comes around May 20 and the first fall frost around Sep 10. Here is when to plant lemons.
Note: winters in zone 3a are usually too cold for lemons to survive outdoors. Grow it in a large pot and move it into a garage or indoors for winter.

- Jun 3: Plant lemons in the bed (first harvest next year)
Outdoors year-round only in zone 9 and warmer. Elsewhere, keep it in a pot and bring it in for winter.
